Yep, this is the “bottom line”.

In today’s economy we all want to get the best for our families.   I also like to make it family friendly for those with multiple children, thus the sliding scale.  The more participants you have per family, the less expensive subsequent students cost.

Lab costs come in two parts, the first being the student fee, which includes the class time and one set of paperwork/learning materials per family.   (Most of the paperwork is reproducible for various family members if age appropriate).  Please note that if a parent is in the classroom during the lab, that parent counts as a participating student.
1st student per family—$20 (must be either an adult or 8th grade or older student)
2nd student per family—$10
3rd and subsequent family members—$8 each
These costs are per lab/per month, since each lab is a separate entity. Remember, you can pick and choose which lab or labs you want to participate in, though most families do them all.

The second cost is the actual specimen/lab fee.  In cases where there are 2 specimens described, we will do both, except in the case of the mammal dissection, in which you may choose to do either the rat or the mink. Specimen costs are separate because some families may choose to share, while others may work on separate specimens.  And some do a “mixed bag”— depending on the specimen. The choice is purely yours.  (I’ve  had as many as seven family members sharing one grasshopper, but that can be a bit tricky!)

PLEASE NOTE:  SPECIMEN COSTS ARE FOUND ON THE LAB DESCRIPTION PAGE. QUOTED SPECIMEN COSTS ARE SEPT 2011 COSTS.
